Atrial fibrillation and renal impairment: Challenges and opportunities

Atrial Fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia & its prevalence in chronic kidney disease is higher than in the general population. Patients with renal insufficiency have a higher risk of thromboembolic events than patients with normal renal function & this risk increases with worsening renal function. Prof John Camm will discuss the therapeutic challenge these patients present, review the evidence and provide insights into the management these complex patients.
