The water paddle steamers make regular trips down the river or you can take a high-speed ferry to vibrant inner-city villages like Bulimba and New Farm.
For the culturally minded, Brisbane offers a huge amount of choice. Known as an arts and music mecca, there are always plenty of shows and performances taking place. Once the art galleries and museums have closed for the day, you can watch a performance by the Queensland Ballet, Opera or Orchestra. For cutting-edge theatre a visit to the Powerhouse is a must.
Brisbane also boasts restaurants and cafes to suit every taste and budget and with a lively night life the city is a delight to wander whilst deciding where to eat.
