Allied Health, Science and Technology Lecture
In 2021 the CSANZ Allied Health, Science and Technology (AHST) Council presented a proposal to Scientific Committee for a new perpetual named lecturer position to present at the CSANZ ASM which was duly endorsed by the CSANZ Board. The following year, the first Allied Health, Science and Technology Lecture was presented by Prof Julie Redfern at the 2022 CSANZ ASM.
Each year the invited AHST lecturer will be an eminent Australian or New Zealand cardiovascular clinician and/or academic who has made a distinguished contribution to any of the multidisciplinary professional areas covered by the AHST Council, with preference given to those who have contributed significantly to CSANZ activities and, particularly to the AHST Council. The multidisciplinary professional areas that fall under the remit of the AHST Council include but are not restricted to: physiologists (including echocardiography, imaging, sonography), radiography, public health, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, nutrition, pharmacy, psychology and genetic counselling.
The CSANZ ASM is an opportunity for the Lecturer to summarise work from research and/or clinical practice in their area of expertise and to promote excellence in cardiovascular research and/or clinical practice.
