Sumeet Chugh

Dr Chugh is the Pauline and Harold Price Endowed Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology, Director of the Heart Rhythm Center, Director of the Sudden Death Research Center and Associate Director of the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. He is also Director of the Division of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, in the Department of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai; and Professor of Medicine-in-Residence at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His scientific career has been dedicated to understanding the etiology and mechanisms of sudden cardiac death in the community, with the goal of improving clinical management and prevention. He is the current Secretary-Treasurer of the Association of University Cardiologists, Vice-President of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Society and an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. Dr Chugh has received the Howard Morgan Award for distinguished achievements in cardiovascular research, the Simon Dack Award from the American College of Cardiology and the Douglas P Zipes lectureship award from the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr Chugh has published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers and has accepted more than 300 invited speaking engagements in the field of heart rhythm disorders.
