Kimberley Bardsley

Nurse Practitioner, St Vincent's Hospital, NSW

Kim is a Nurse Practitioner currently working at the Heart Failure Service at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. She has an extensive background in cardiology, and specifically heart failure.

She has a special interest in how to best facilitate care delivery for all patients, and the practicalities of how to actually apply the HF guidelines in optimising management of chronic heart failure and heart failure exacerbations.

Kim is actively involved in the broader state and national levels to advocate for and to facilitate a better heart failure environment and governance. Some examples include a lead author in the ACI Clinical Service Framework for Chronic Heart Failure, Australian and New Zealand Cardiac Nurse Practitioner Symposium Organising Committee Member and currently the secretary of CSANZ Heart Failure Committee.

The Cardiovascular Nursing Lecture

In April 2005, the Cardiovascular Nurses Working Group approached the Council of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Council requesting a dedicated Cardiovascular Nursing Lecture to be instituted. The Council agreed with the proposal and the inaugural lecture was presented at the 2006 Annual Scientific Meeting in Canberra.
